Against Sciarid Larvae—Guide

Adult fungus flies are small black flies that measure approximately 3 to 4 mm. They are visible when they fly away in swarms when watering, but are not harmful to plants.

Direct damage is mainly caused by the very active white larvae, 4 to 6 mm long. They feed on roots, can dig into stems and burrow into cuttings. Young plants wilt and die. Sciarids can be vectors of certain diseases.

You will find a yellow sticky trap to detect an infestation in time, a roll of sticky band trap to ensure physical monitoring and mass trapping in greenhouses, as well as beneficial nematodes against sciarids.
